If you're interested in making accents with your laptop computer, then follow these instructions. They might not work for every system as this has only proven to work on Windows XP, so keep that in mind if you have an older operating system.

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options

  2. Click the "Languages" tab.

  3. Click the "Details..." button under the section labeled "Text services and input languages"

  4. In the "Settings" tab make sure that the "Default input language" is "English (United States) - US"

  5. Where it says "Installed services", click on the word "Keyboard" (there should be a little picture of a keyboard next to it) and then click the "Add" button over on the right side.

  6. For "Input language" select "Spanish (Mexico)".

  7. For "Keyboard layout/IME" select "United States-International".

  8. Click "OK".

  9. Click "OK".
